How does China’s Needle Coke Market perform so far in 2019?

In 2019, although the global needle coke prices maintained an uptrend, the Chinese prices moved in the opposite direction. The country’s needle coke market was affected by the decline in graphite electrode prices, and the domestic prices dropped 30-40% compared to 2018. Whereas over the same period, the companies ex-China continued to raise the needle coke prices, resulting in a price surge of 20% Y-O-Y basis.
