Me-Metals – The ceremony of the sixth conference on Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Productivity Award was held with the motto “productivity as the foundation of competiveness in the national economy” on 27 Khordad, 1398 (17 June 2019) by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) at the Eram Hotel in Tehran, Iran.
Reported by Me-Metals, in this ceremony, at which holdings in mines and mining industries, both public and private, metal industries and cement manufacturing companies participated, the specialized parent company (holding) of Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) succeeded to receive the silver trophy (the highest award at this competition).
Besides, the complexes of Butia Iranian Steel Co. (BISCO) and Zarand Coke Making & Tar Refinery achieved to receive a two-star certificate of commendation on their first attendance at this conference.
Dr. Majid Namehgoshay Fard, the manager of the Management Development of MIDHCO received the above-mentioned award on behalf of Dr. Ali Asghar Pourmand.

Production of sponge iron in Iran rose 13 percent during spring, which corresponds to the first quarter of Iranian calendar year, compared to the same period of time in the past year, IRNA reported on Monday.
Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) plans to put projects worth nearly $3.5 billion into operation by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ends on March 20, 2020), IRNA reported on Friday, quoting a senior official with the organization.
Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Reza Rahmani said 390 trillion rials (nearly $9.3 billion) is required to finish unfinished projects with over 60 percent physical progress, Shata reported.
Iranian mills have kept billet export offers unchanged this week, however like last week, this week also left the market with no deals. According to SteelMint, this week Iranian billet export assessment stands at USD 380-385/MT FoB, for Aug- Sep’19 shipment, down by USD 5 against last week over softening market sentiments.
Head of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) unveiled a plan for construction of a new petrochemical hub in Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in order to add up to six million tons (mt) of new capacity to the zone.
Me-Metals: By the end of the current solar year (1398: 2019-2020), the Steel Making Plant of Zarand, Kerman will inaugurate and the production capacity of steel billet will boost about 1.7 million tons.
